10 Features of IP-STONE
Lightweight
IP-STONE is a very light material prepared by cutting natural granite to 12mm. It reduces the weight by approximately 60% compared with ordinary stone material of the same size. While it reduced the weight, it secures structural stability and facilitates construction. It also enables its installation on high floors.
Durability
Art Stone not only develops insulated exterior materials but also angles and pins to secure structural stability. IP-PIN and P-ANGLE prevents the mounting and dismounting of the product, improves the weakness in using the epoxy applied to existing dry technique and technologies were developed to secure stable durability against earthquake.
Flame Retardancy
IP-STONE is made of urethane with flame retardancy, natural granite with incombustibility, and aluminum foil sheet, minimizing the generation of poisonous gas during a fire. Safer than existing external insulation method against the danger of poisonous gas during a fire.
Insulation
According to Building Energy Saving Design Standards of 2016 [Enforced on January 1, 2016][Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Notification No. 2015-1108, December 31, 2015, partially revised], the heat transmission coefficient for the central region was strengthened up to 0.21W/m2.K. IP-STONE is a finishing material with excellent external insulation that reached the heat transmission coefficient complying with the standards for the first time in Korea.
Condensation Prevention
IP-STONE forms a 30mm gap between the building frame and the finishing material, allowing the circulation of air and heat to prevent condensation and maximize the insulating effect. Also, Art Stone’s products are installed without damaging the insulating material and eliminates heat loss while the existing installation method which makes holes on the insulation material causes heat loss through the damage of the material.
Minimized Heat Loss
The joining areas of the IP-STONE are produced in the Ship-Lap method to prevent heat loss compared with ordinary method, blocking the heat loss that may be generated in the gap between finishing materials.
Energy Saving through Thermal Circulation
- The surface of the AL-Sheet blocks the solar radiation to reduce the temperature rise by radiant heat.
- The steam is discharged through the layer of air (30m/m).
- It blocks the flow of humidity from inside the building to the wall.
- It reduces the flow of heat through the wall to reduce the loss of radiant heat and reduce heating expenses.
Economic Feasibility
IP-STONE is economic as it reduces initial design cost, the cost for the installation of external insulation, and the cost of stone work. The seismic design makes it safe against earthquake and it is a semi-permanent product. The building’s life cost and maintenance and repair are excellent while it reduces the cost of disposing the waste.
Productivity and Constructability
IP-STONE boasts of excellent productivity due to the automated system of the production process. It also boasts of excellent constructability as it reduced processes such as the attachment of insulation, perforating, and urethane foaming from existing dry method.
Eco-friendliness
The hard urethane foam, which is used as the insulation material for IP-STONE, has high resistance against contamination, which makes it eco-friendly, and the reduction of maintenance and repair cost can be also expected following the use of the material.
